I am doubtful if Prakrit/Sanskrit had influence down south that time for the Kings to recognize and use it as language for the titles of Kings because we don't find the use of Sankrit even for names in the Sangam works.
How about the possibility that the Tamils hadn't figure out how to Tamilify Sanskrit/Prakrit at that time ( ~3rd BC ) and most of the Sangam works are circa 1-2 AD or so. May be the Velirs/Satyaputo was a dominant separate kingdom at the time of the edicts of Ashoka and later became minor kings during the Time of the Sangam literatures. ?vijayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03341025083013570923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2559723930575740149.post-51326037894441964582010-05-18T10:34:40.474+05:302010-05-18T10:34:40.474+05:30So you accept that the inscription is fake, if you...So you accept that the inscription is fake, if you have any credible evidence as you describe to support the inscription as genuine then you would have posted it. Is it not?

The inscription uses scripts from two different era and there is no credible evidence in literature to support such a large dynasty existed. If you want to discuss other things there are other topics, post in the relevant topic. Two wrongs does not not make it right.

The inscription is fake and that is not the only fake in Tamil Nadu, there are many watch out for the blog on the other fakesModa Sattvahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16790418181426022089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2559723930575740149.post-3754503200628021102010-05-18T05:23:42.453+05:302010-05-18T05:23:42.453+05:30,similar to the fact that even ashoka period is no...,similar to the fact that even ashoka period is not precisely established i cannot see how two inconclusive evidences can be used to defend against a credible ancient scripture. If you can call these a myth then perhaps the best myth is that of adisankaracharya who is said to have died at 32 after finishing his job but there is a supposedly credible alternate version which believes he immolated himself after he was defeated in debate with a buddhist vasubandhu.freezehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16537743120051572359noreply@blogger.com
